Friday 19 December 2025 9M Christmas Party 9M enjoyed a traditional Christmas party this morning. They played pass the parcel, musical bumps, musical chairs, musical statues and corners. A good time was had by all.

Friday 19 December 2025 Christmas Tree During PSHE, 7F were put into 3 different group and given the materials to put a Christmas tree up. Each group worked together and were able to put the trees up in the classroom. One tree was used for a whole school assembly. All students participated well and were respectful to one another.

Friday 19 December 2025 8B Travel Training and ASDA Trip It's been a busy couple of weeks in 8B! Not only have we had our travel training trip, where we practised our road safety, we had a trip to Asda, where we used our supermarket knowledge to help other classes in the school fulfil their shopping lists!

Friday 19 December 2025 Dunham Massey Sports & Outdoors spent Thursday morning exploring the grounds at Dunham Massey. Wet weather aside, we were lucky enough to spot wild deer in the park, and we managed to clock up a walking distance of 6.5km. It's always good to get outdoors to stretch our legs, enjoy nature, and spend time together outside of the classroom.

Friday 19 December 2025 CORE Group PE Blog This half term, our Core Group PE classes have been working hard to improve their fitness levels through a series of engaging and energetic sessions during their Health-Related Fitness unit, and they've certainly been put through their paces!

Friday 19 December 2025 Christmas Dinner Day On Wednesday we had a fabulous Christmas dinner at school, there was even a surprise visit from Santa!!!! Many pupils made place mats, table decorations and Christmas hats to bring that sense of festive cheer to the event. We were really pleased that two of our governors were able to join us for dinner and experience the event first hand.

Friday 19 December 2025 Mission Christmas - Comms 2 Over the last half term, Comms 2 have completed a fundraising campaign. Students came up with ideas about how we should raise money and who we should raise money for.

Thursday 27 November 2025 9S Trip to the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester Class 9S had an incredible day exploring the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. Their adventure began in the Powerhall, where they were amazed by the impressive collection of trains and engines. The pupils also discovered the fascinating history of cotton mills and cotton traders, gaining insight into Manchester's role as a global hub during the textile boom.

Thursday 27 November 2025 Living Skills After School Club In the Living Skills Club, pupils strengthen their social skills by engaging in board games with their peers. Through these activities, they learn to communicate, collaborate, take turns, and build positive relationships in a fun and supportive environment.

Friday 21 November 2025 Work Experience - 21.11.25 When the weather gets tough, Samuel Laycock students get going. This week's work experience was forecast to be an experience as the temperatures really dipped the night before.

Friday 21 November 2025 Breakfast Club - 21.11.25 Our Breakfast club pupils wrapped up warm and braved the bitter cold to enjoy fresh air and a taste of Guatemala. On the menu was plantain, which received a big thumbs up from everyone especially Kayla, who said it tasted just like potato! Even staff joined in the fun.
