Travel Training Experience – 9S
As part of their travel training programme, 9S took the bus to Ashton Bus Station to develop their independence and understanding of public transport. The pupils have been learning how to use public transport safely, an important life skill that will support them as they prepare for life beyond Samuel Laycock School.
During the visit, the pupils travelled by bus, practised safe behaviours whilst out in the community, and explored the bus station. They spent time finding out more about bus numbers, routes and timetables, helping them to understand how to plan journeys and access information when travelling independently. After completing their activities, the group returned safely to school by bus.
The pupils were a credit to the school throughout the trip, demonstrating our RESPECT values at all times. They listened carefully, followed instructions, showed consideration for members of the public and staff, and represented Samuel Laycock School exceptionally well. We are very proud of how maturely they approached this valuable learning experience.
